We put in a foodplot this year. I wanted to broadcast but BIL insisted on drilling. I think he drilled too deep. Most of it finally came up, but half of it is engulfed in waist high Johnson grass. Anything I can spray to kill the Johnson grass that won’t be harmful to the deer?

This should do it and you can spray it tomorrow or Sunday while its still growing.

Clethodem 2E

Depending on how much you need to spray.

Johnson grass is soon to be killed down by Frost or Freeze. Wick applicator will work, but if its waist high or more it will die slow and Probably be froze by the time it dies.
Maybe bushog it off high? That's what I did to a field 2 weeks ago after pasturing it for a bit. Cows ate it first and now it is coming back Tender.
It's hard to get rid of.

I don't think we can get a bush hog high enough to avoid all of the plot plants. Some are 18" high..... Might just let frost take care of it.....

Clethodem 2E will kill all grass but not any broadleaf weeds.
If there is grass you are wanting to not spray out then Clethodem won't do what you want.

I made a weed wiper after the first cutting of hay the Johnson's grass starts growing anytime it got higher than the other grass I would go over it with 2% glyphate my 25 gallon sprayer is hooked to the weed wiper

I would love to see more pictures of how you have that set up!

It's just what you see and quarter inch drip hose hook to my 25 gallon sprayer and I regulated the pressure so it just got the paint rollers wet you can't open up that picture and see all the details

Worked great young grass but you can't let the Johnson grass get too tall because it gets too hard. Had to do it about every 2 to 3 weeks when the other Johnson grass started growing wound up killing it all have to see what happens next year
