Being I hunt public in Kansas I have mixed feelings about this especially since they're not saying anything about fair chase. I never seen it as a conflict ever or had conflict from it. I can live with it but I'm not buying the privacy claim crap

I do believe that cellular cams are as big an advantage as the livescope is to fishing. Technology is taking the fair chase out of the sports. What's next? Maybe a gun set up on a remote stand that shoots the deer and you never have to leave the house. I'm not knocking anyone just asking the question. How far is too far?

If someone wants to fight this, I feel they can win it. When we are in public, on public property. We have ZERO right to privacy from being filmed. They cannot record sound, they can record images.
Ok. If someone wants to spend their money to hire a lawyer to fight this cause it's that important to them, they can have at it, I could care less.

That remote gun idea you mention was a reality in Texas some years ago. There’s a lot of stuff on-line about “remote control” hunting.

I was just pointing out their justification for doing so in the screenshot you posted is flawed. By law, there is no such thing as privacy in public space. Their reasoning is counterintuitive. I’d understand citing fair chase. Just not privacy.

Why can't you record sound? I see 1st amendment auditors recording with sound all the time. Now maybe you can not do it secretly but it should be covered under the 1st amendment I would think as long as its in public and not a private setting.

Correct, you can’t record sound secretly. Use of Audio recording has to be declared and consented to.

If it’s in public you do not. Unless it’s something like a private conversation and you put a recording device under a picnic table or something. Otherwise I don’t need their permission if it’s a public situation. I think that’s what you are saying.

Yes and no. If you notice, surveillance cameras never record audio. In order for a place to record audio along with their video they have to let people know they are being recorded. They may also have to let you know about recording in general if it’s being done for surveillance.

I have seldom even seen a buck while hunting that I have many photos of. To me the only thing trail cams did was get me excited about season and get my hopes up. I can honestly say they have never given me much of an edge. It might just have been the area I hunted.
