You ain’t bothering me Grinder; I done had country eggs and souse for breakfast! WheeeewDoggies!
I've seen souse meat made and tasted a little in my youth. If you bring that stuff around deer camp you'll likely be eating alone and possibly sleeping in the truck. Guide fees will go up and may not be available at all depending on the stank from souse meat.

Grinder, took your recommendation and bought my nephew a Black Hunter recurve for Christmas. I am pleasantly surprised the fit/finish and overall quality of the bow. He's got a 29/30 inch draw so I ordered it with 40 lb limbs. He is loving it!

My wife picked me up a black hunter after one of y’all’s recommendations for Christmas. 60#. She was sorry they didn’t have anything as heavy as I usually shoot in compound 🤦‍♂️ I know I’m a big guy but my shoulders don’t have much left in em.

I’ll have to dig up the arrow discussion y’all had, Those blazer fletched had a little bounce coming off the riser and horse hair and get some single bevel 2 blades.

Then I can join y’all’s ranks and be a cool Trad bow person too.

Don’t know any of those “cool trad guys” but welcome to the madness!
I hunted several years with a 69# bow when I first went crazy, now that 60# went to 40 while my 40’s went to 60’s (age).

"Cool".........hmm.......I'm certainly not worthy of that compliment! ......but that Carp and Grinder?.......they are the definition of "cool". :)
However, not sure how far in West KY you are located but you need to come out and shoot with us the second Saturday of each month, in Mercer County. You will never hear the like of excuses before and during the shooting!

If that's too much weight for you, buy you some lower rated limbs for it. As I'm sure you are aware, super easy to install and more fun to shoot. Unbeknownst to the crew on here, I plan to use a different bow this year at the shootouts. I've got to get good enough to win that huge prize money every month! Ha!

A Northern friend shared with me how to become a trad archer…
Get you an old fashion bag of marbles and a sling shot. Get out in a field or mountain somewhere and begin shooting those marbles. Carefully watch how they fly, the trajectory, how the leave and fad out of sight. Keep doing that until you have lost all your marbles and then you are a traditional archer!

)Yeah “ Cool” around our shoots has more to do with the weather. KTBA is full of “cool guys” at the jan, feb, march, and sometimes the April shoots.
Id say we are all “hot guys” at the july and august shoot, but fear this would be taken the wrong way…….😳

If you can handle 60# you are doing better than 95% of trad archers. Most nowadays shoot 40#. Go to a big IBO shoot and theres more shooting 30# than 40#.
I’ll just have to man up. I picked up 70# compound cold turkey.

I’m going to order arrows/broadheads etc this week.

It’s a 3.5hr drive to Mercer. When the weather is better and things slow down at work I will certainly come to at least one shoot. Ive heard you have to wear a stupid hat to shoot trad. I’ll borrow one, I don’t wear hats, silly or otherwise.

Uh.......I don't think I have a "stupid hat" either............unless they all think it is and haven't told me!

If you can only come to one, come to the TradFest in April.

World of difference between 70# compound and 70# recurve.
Grandson just got him a new compound, set it to 65#. He is 15. In a recurve or longbow he likes to shoot 40-45#.
A 70# compound you are holding, what 15# after breakover? A 70# recurve, you are holding 70# at full draw……
A 30# recurve you are pulling twice the weight of a 70# compound at full draw. Think about it. You always need to drop bow weight going traditional.
Trying to pull too much creates bad habits at the least, and injuries to your self at the worst.
The object is to have fun.
