Can you "long string" a recurve to reduce the poundage and still shoot accurately?
New years eve, and new years day i worked, and aint stopped since then. Im thinking thats what this year is gonna be !Lord willing I will be there. The weather looks accommodating thankfully.
Carp, I sure hope you and Mark can make it. Hang in there with the...uh...."green apples". Btw, Sandman uses a diaper all the time, maybe he can loan you his.
Grinder, was hoping to see you there too. We ain't gett'n this started off right!

Just wondering if it would work.No. There is no poundage adjustment on traditional bows.
You can get a tiny bit more speed with a low brace height, but it will be louder, less accurate, and slapping your forearm.
The extra speed is neglible. Manufacture of your bow should tell you what to set your brace height at.
If so it probably wouldn’t be enough to tell a difference, longer power stroke with lower brace may also give a slight bit more speed, but not significant. The best way to reduce draw weight is by changing bows. You can get drastic and sand limbs or “trap” them but even this doesn’t reduce a lot. If you happen to need a lighter bow to shoot Saturday I’m sure one of us can bring you one to use. Most of us old folks have “girly” bows now. I got plenty but not sure if I will be healed up or not to be there. Can you "long string" a recurve to reduce the poundage and still shoot accurately?
Grinder; I thought you had this retired thing figured out, looks like the work has only begun. Those HoneyDo list are never empty.New years eve, and new years day i worked, and aint stopped since then. Im thinking thats what this year is gonna be !
With your wife being a kid doctor and you being a cow doctor I was sure you could “guide” me in the right direction. I took a hip shot, probably the same thing you give those cattle, you don’t forsake them afterwards do you?I'm planning on and looking forward to shooting Saturday. Jman and Tarzan are planning to also.
Hope you get to feeling better so you can shoot. Not speaking for everyone but.....if you start looking 🤢 there will be none of my guide services available for the antibiotic issue. You're on your own there Carp.
I got a life time of honey do’s, and wish lists backed up. Never had time, money, or gumption to do them when i used to do nothing but work.Grinder; I thought you had this retired thing figured out, looks like the work has only begun. Those HoneyDo list are never empty.
I wouldn't "forsake you".... I'd just "guide" you in the direction of the bushes or the clubhouse facilities if you start looking green. With your wife being a kid doctor and you being a cow doctor I was sure you could “guide” me in the right direction. "I can bring my dart gun in case you need a pop in the other hip for a retreat if you'd like. Since you've read my track record on retreats you might want to pass on my method."
Well Sandman is one of the better shots out of our group. But guess that ain’t saying much! Began to see signs of life today so I may get to come take my whooping Saturday.Carp.........seriously?..........you want any of this gang shooting at you with a dart gun "hoping" to hit you in the right spot? Hmm.........
It was set wednesday, so, i dont know. Im tied down until late saturday, so someone else will need to check, or, be surprised saturday. Worst we should have to do is climb over some trees.Did the range survive the tornado in Harrodsburg?
