Yea! I used to see them too, as a kid on our vacation trips. If I don't win the bid for the Coonskin cap on eBay, the next fresh road kill Racoon I see laying on the roadside, I'll take it to a Taxidermist and see if he can make my one.

Maybe I can just strap a Coon tail on frank.

Not sure if they have "dog" sizes. LOL

I'm gonna Goggle and see if a can find me a Coonskin cap, just like Daniel Boone wore for my next adventure...

I found an old original Coonskin cap. If I win the bid, I'm gonna wear it on my next adventure. I just hope it fits my big head.

There is a member on here who’s daughter makes them. They are the real deal to she traps them herself. Jefuscus or something is his name he hangs out on the trapping forum. She dose some really neat stuff check them out.

Mammoth Cave Park was closed to camping this year. But, I still managed to spend 8 weeks total about 2 weeks at a time Kayaking along the river, hiking and camping in the deep woods of the Park. My son dropped me off each time. All of my gear fits neatly out of sight of prying eyes, in the storage compartments in the bottom of my Kayak. So, I just looked like the average Kayaker having a great time fishing on the river, was even stopped a few times by Johnny Law and questioned, but Frank and I fooled em each time.

Looks like a good dog. Glad your having fun. I canoed there once when I was younger I remember it was a pretty trip.

No! I have not been camping or on the river since Frank ruptured a disk in his back and I had to put him down... I'll prolly never go camping again... It happened on 2-25-22. He was 14 years old.

I'm very sorry to hear about Frank. Losing best friends sucks.
Thank you for sharing your adventures (good and bad) with us over the years. Your pictures put an idea in my head to find some nearby property with water access.
My daughter struggles around people, but enjoys spending endless hours paddling and the woods. It isn’t the green but it’s perfect for us.

Sorry to hear about Frank. We have a doxie also that has had a ruptured disk but his happened a couple of years after we rescued him when he was probably 4 or 5. That was almost 9 yrs ago so he’s getting on up there now. They are special little animals. Frank was quite the looker and sure seemed right at home on your kayak.
