I have a friend that lives half the year just South of Naples FL. Other half on Chesapeake Bay.
His Flordia house is in a nice subdivision that lies next to a nature preserve. (Swamp)
He has Alligators In his yard frequently. Doorbell camera took a photo of a Big Gator a foot from his door. He is selling because you can't let your dog out or even hardly on a leash.
A Lot of Gators in the Swamps now.

was in ocala florida, mid 80,s. a gator was in the lake, on the horse farm i was working at. had an opportunity to get out in a small boat an hunt the gator with my friend Mario, from Guatemala, and one of his buddies from Mexico, with a 22. i declined. the 3 of us, probably drinking, in the small boat, a small 10 or so foot gator, i think the gator would win.

Port Charlotte is like 4 miles from where we stay in Florida. Plenty of gators.
