I didn’t make it out today. Last night went a little to long. We took random sized jugs and filled them with 3/4 water and tied various weights so they were on top to a foot down and tossed them in our pond. The beers were flowering and it was a blast. So I didn’t make it up in time to go fish today.

I did learn a lot. I got the bear Cajun shore runner. I love it so far. Have had some minor issues that would have been stressful if I want all the way to the river or lake. Broke a nock. So got more nocks and 5 extra arrows and tips and some extra hook things for the tip.

now I have to fix the 2 finger grips on the string that you grab because they also hold the nock in place and for some reason they came loose and are sliding instead of locked in

also I might have to get a glove or bow finger guard for my release hand Rubber the inside tip or my right pointer finger raw.

good luck with the cajun. bought one for my wife last year from BPS. could not adjust poundage as the bolts wouldn't turn. over the phone both cajun and BPS told me i was doing something wrong. took it to a BPS and the archery tech was baffled. got my money back.

I tried to turn it down earlier with the wrench it came with and it was to tight. That’s a bummer to hear. It feels heavier then my deer bow almost. Hopefully with a better wrench or a shop it won’t be an issue

You generally won't have to "kill" them after you land em, if you'd rather not. Something about an arrow thru their midsection shortens the life expectancy substantially. Gar are liable to survive if shot behind the ribs, fwiw.
Catch and release. He'll be fine... It's fine...
