We've been doing a good amount of bowfishing recently so I wanted to share some pics.
We went to Barkley/KY spillway a few weeks ago and did great on all kinds of fish. On our last night the spoonbills were really running all over.
We all got a couple that weekend, but near daylight my wife got a large one and right afterwards my daughter shot her monster. We knew it was a big one but didn't know that it was in the state record category. We had a tape measure and it measured out to 62.5" long and had a stubby paddle. She said it weighed about the same as a 50# feed sack (we didn't own a scale to weigh it on). She had trouble even holding it up for the photos, had to put both arms up through the gills to get it vertical.
We took some photos and the cut them up and headed out. After we drove home we looked up the record and were surprised. She's determined to beat her own "record" now!
