Otter #3. Big male

Number 3 otter. This dude is serious. Caught in RBG by the back hips. Not sure how he made it through so far. Never knew those cute little playful creatures could be so ferocious! Also caught a big bore coon. No yotes today unfortunately. I’m 6’3” and 230. He was just over 50 inches long.

Fur on these otters is amazing. I’ve skinned all three out feet and all. Gonna try to mount them myself. Should be fun.

Make sure you do a good job on fleshing them. Be sure and split the tail to make sure your tanning gets clear to the tip.

Otters are one of the easier animals to mount…it’s a lot like putting your sock on your foot…

Otters are the pit bulls of the furbears. They get pissed off and want to come meet you, only thing keeping them from meeting halfway is whatever your trap is attached. Gotta respect them, interesting critters. Good job!
