Sadly, most doctors (at least in my experience) don't even know what to test for. I'm getting blood work done later this month and I'm planning to ask if they can check for any tickborne diseases. This has been a "heavy" year for me........I'd guess I've pulled anywhere from 20-25 off this year that had already latched on, and that's a conservative estimate !
