They had the best summer sausage I've ever had but the possum police ruined that.

I guess trying to find a solution for the decline in the turkey population, or maybe putting an effort into catching poachers that leave caped out headless deer bodies laying around on our backroads and what little public land we have left that the department hasn't sold(yet) is just too much for KDFWR, so they go shut down a great processor over a roll of sausage.

Good job KDFWR.
I read bgnews and that is where I originally read I guess. I have heard they provided a great product. I try to roll my own but always interested in news like this. Sucks and I agree with you 100% on resources spent other places.

I will say they got, a dangerous job, and one i wouldnt want. I have known a couple of Wardens, that i really liked, but i lost respect for the department itself, a long time ago, They had a complicated situation, in the late 80 s with farmers, spotlighting deer, i dont know the answer, to it. But letting one person spotlight 200 deer, in the summer, wasnt the right one. But if somebody, had of killed a extra doe, in season, and they caught them, would have taken everything they had. I have seen some small bean fields, literally mowed down, but other farmers, in the same area, never fired a shot, and they made it just fine. Im not sure, what the answer to that situation was, i know that was his livelihood, and was losing money. We were checked last spring, trout fishing, Me , crippled up, a 89 year old man, and another older guy, we were in about a 50,000 dollar truck sitting right beside it, 2 pulled up, and you would have thought, they had pulled up on the taliban, the way they acted, i know they got a dangerous job, but its highly unlikely , a man in a 50 gran truck, would shoot you, over a fishing license, Or any of use not be legal, but as i said, they have a dangerous job , so im sure they are trained to be careful with anyone. The trout law, you cant even use pieces of a trout for bait, in Ky, because they are not native to Ky, according to them, but yet they stock them all over Ky . Its a money thing, to me, as for shutting down, the Yoders, they were stationary, and easy, and money to be gained, A lot harder than trying to catch a poacher.

Yep. Not the thread for it but I had some allen co boys roll up by my family in a Jon boat, hit it and immediately boarded it. Claimed we were keeping undersized bass.

Live well empty. Cooler empty. Still walked all over boat checking every compartment. Once the pos got out of my boat they thought they could stay tied up to glass for other “offenders”, lol I kicked there shit show off. Don’t think those boys are around anymore though, maybe a few others will chime in about them

while I understand what you’re saying and agree. That whole batch working up of deer is gross. I work my own up for that reason. I don’t want my deer that I shot, gutted, cleaned and iced painstakingly then took to the processor mixed with Joe blow who shot his straight in the gut, let it sit in the 60 degree heat for hours cause he couldn’t find it, hauled it around town all day to show his buddies til the damthing started to swell and then took it to the processor mixed with mine. Had a processor local that would do that, if his buddy brought in a blew apart 75 pound doe half rotted and you could take in a 150 pound buck and his buddy would get your meat and you’d get his.

They did have good products and Alvin and his family were nice people. He got stuck with a lot of meat that hunters wouldn’t pick up because they couldn’t afford it to begin with. Man was trying to recoup time and money for ingredients he had invested. I usually debone my meat before taking to a processor. But one time I took a whole buck down there and he gave me $50 off for a clean bow kill that would get bone in his grinder.
