Shooting Ravin crossbow and rage crossbow x broadhead. I sited in using the rage practice points. Thought I had a broadhead open and plane off on a 34 yard shot where I just clipped a bucks back. So I used up 20 shock collars shooting the hunting broadhead. Ravin tack driver at 30 40 and 50 yards. Was using the black shock collar and tightening fairly tight. So guess I just pulled the shot on that buck. Instructions say the blade should be in the middle of the pedal on the shock collar. Did find a new broadhead out of the package the collar was not aligned properly. The black shock collar seems kind of fragile. Anybody use the red collar which is supposed to be more durable and can be used on these broadheads?

I use the red shock collars for bow and xbow.

After wounding a buck the second day of season this year I had an idea of putting a gps sytem on a broadhead. I realized after that there was already a system out there that a chip off the broadhead comes off when it contacts the deer. Pretty good idea but the prices were like $700.

I am not a fan of mechanicals with an xbow. I know some like them but I hear too many bad stories. I shot several fixed heads until I found what flies to my liking. Magnus and Muzzy works outstanding for me. Muzzy is a lower priced head that still works great. Its just another thing not to worry about if shooting a fixed head.

My xbow isn't even that fast but a total broadhead failure with a crossbow rated broadhead is absolutely ridiculous, even if it was a lemon it's not worth the risk. I like your choices also but I ultimately settled on the Exodus. Fixed it is.

I shoot Wasp Jackhammer mechanicals in my crossgun. Old school over the top expandable, and put the band at the top groove of the blades. Zero chance of them opening premature, and zero chance of them failing to deploy. And they are one of the few I've tried that really do hit with field points at crossgun speeds. I've checked em out to 90, dead nuts every time. 1.75" 3 blade. Deer don't handle it well.
Rages kill deer great, I've used em quite a bit, but there's just too much room in there for human error. Damn collar petals and different types of collars and dumb chit like that. Never had one act up on me tho, fwiw.
I shot a couple with the No Collar Trypans this year, and I do really like that broadhead in my vertical bow

Buncha nannies out back when I got home today. Grabbed the crossgun. 60 yard downhill shot. 20 yard recovery.
