Interesting responses so far....

I agree that CC and transportation in a vehicle are two different things. I was specifically wanting to know about having a weapon in the car. I do not plan on carrying the weapon.

I thought there was a Supreme Court ruling that said the city/state (I believe it was NY - maybe DC) couldn't deny you the right to take your pistol to the range in your car. I thought this ruling struck down any state laws against transportation. I accept that the city/state might be able to tell you how to secure your pistol (maybe in a locked box in the trunk) while in the vehicle....but I thought it was legal.

I did NOT know the Ohio transportation issue. I've driven into Cincinnati several times with my loaded Glock in my truck. Is that still law in effect?

Wife wants to drive through New England. It sounds nice, peaceful, laid-back. I guess the safe thing to do would be to leave the Glock at home.

Yes, unless some affirmative action criminal decides to carjack you.

I just have no desire to travel, and telling me I can’t take my gun without chance of being jailed for being a prepared armed civilian just adds to it. I’m armed everywhere I go, half the time long gun and pistol lol

I get a big kick of watching those cop videos where the person pulled over with no license, registration or insurance plays some sovereign citizen stand. I not sure I’ve ever seen it work to their favor. I’ve never really fully understood that I wonder if they could play that card when it comes to carrying a handgun?

I actually don’t carry very often. I work in a public school and don’t want to forget and have one in the car. With that being said, I think it’s utter BS that anyone should have to worry about having a gun in the car. What kind of [email protected] commie country are we living in?! Good grief.
Had the Republicans not won the house this last election , im sure it would be much worse today. I have to vote republican for that very reason.

Just a question and I’m pretty sure I know the answer, but say I don’t have a ky state ccp and I travel from a constitutional carry state (ky) to a ccp reciprocal state like Ohio, with a concealed firearm in my vehicle…am I illegal?
No reason being you do not have a ccp permit from KY. If you did apply for and receive a KY ccp permit than yes. KY constitutional carry only pertains to carry within the state boarders.
