Ron LaClair

Just wanted to let you know, longbow legend Ron LaClair passed away last night at his hunting cabin in northern Michigan. He was 86.

Certainly a legend among the traditional archery community! Enjoyed his pictures, tales, and post on another site. Got to meet them once at Ky Tradfest.

So sorry to hear. He was our guest speaker one year, and a joy to sit and talk with. A people person for sure. We need more likem him.

However, Almost 90. Died in a hunting cabin. If you expect any better from this life you’ll be sorely disappointed.

I happen to be walking by when he and his crew were posing for someone else at the Kalamazoo Expo back in January of this year. I went ahead and took a picture. I have only talked to him a couple times th over the years and at the Tradfest but he was a fixture at that Expo. Definitely one of the most known guys with traditional bows and archery.
