What if a man shot a deer at 5:30 pm. At 6pm he went to pick up the deer and it stood up. It is in bad shape but still alive. The responcible thing is to finish her off but it is after legal shooting time???

I have called my local warden about stuff and he is level headed. Shot a doe once that jumped up sick staggering around. Had an arrow in her shoulder. Someone took a shot at her from behind and it lodged in her shoulder. This was when you had to buy bonus tags two at a time. I let him know and he told me not to waste my tag. Also called on a few other similar stuff over the years. Most of them have common sense.

Here's a twist......bow season. Walk up on a deer still alive laying in a thicket, no way to get another arrow (you've tried and your quiver is now empty). Do you shoot it with your pistol ? The deer is mortally wounded.
Note: This is a true story. Buddy of mine.......I did finish it with my pistol (my bow was in the truck). Legal? No.....but I felt it was the ethical thing to do.
