I usually just get up early and hunt until 8:30 or I get a limit. Ticks are bad unless you can walk back roads.

I wait until August to hunt Squirrels. Way too many ticks in the Spring woods, and some Squirrels are still having young.

My girlfriend says her mom has a couple dozen around her house. Sure I could shoot them but there's no fun shooting them off the porch

Ive shot a few juvenile ones in the heat of moment. I just use a toothpick for kabobs instead of a skewer.

My daughter is tuned up for squirrels. Kid lives for tree rat season.

Going to check the mulberry trees later this week see what kind crop we have this year, squirrels love them.

What's the target crop in the spring? It's easy in the fall with pignuts, hickory, etc, but I haven't a clue this time of year???

Weeks ago they were hitting the maple seeds pretty hard. In my experience they move quite a bit in spring searching for food.

Mulberries. If I don't have mulberries, I don't even hunt spring squirrels. If you have them, you can probably get a limit with a frog gig.

It saves a lot on $4.00 gas.
