So this was a new one on me, my dogs were eating them last October so I searched around for a tree with fruit on it to no avail.

Quince, I took the seeds and let the dogs finish the fruits. You have to cook them to eat them. They are good for vodka, pies, preserves.

I found the quince plants under honeysuckle on the other side of the drive from where I was looking. They are quince bushes.

several plants one left, two right.

DSC04308 (1200 x 800).jpg

This bank was a big garbage, wood, fence pile with a rock bottom.

DSC04310 (1200 x 800).jpg

With a log cabin to move I'm now interested in cleaning up the rocks, cut foundation stone.

DSC04313 (1200 x 800).jpg

I unwound the honeysuckle from the quince and will stump treat it on a dryer day.

I think that I found the grill that goes with the old hood that covered my well.

We had quince bushes in our yard growing up in Michigan. My mom and my grandma loved them. I believe grandma made jam out of them

Perhaps you are mistaking me for someone else?

Well, it is possible. Afterall, I did previously inquire whether that was Lurch or you standing within the doorway of a previously posted photograph, but you failed to elaborate upon such. Regardless, those two links in which I provided are both nice reads, and those look to be hefty stones that only a cyclops could easily lift, without a bobcat.

Im glad to hear you didnt overdo it.

I can tell you planting and caging trees wears me plumb out. Usually Feel like i been hit by a truck later that evening and especially the next morning.

Hey carnivore, I hope that you got your trees planted. I still have to cage the trees that I put in this year. I try to limit myself to 5-6 hours of hard labor/day. When they start paying out reparations as hard as I work, I should get some.

I got the site prepped the other day.

I didn't hear any turkeys this morning so today I plant blueberries and raspberries.

I tidied up and restacked boards in the cabin yesterday

and a hole in the ground marks another homestead down the hollow 200 yards from my property. Their water doesn't look quite as tasty as does mine.

They put their homestead on top of a hill seep wetland.

The roses need to be tended at this homestead about 100 yards down from my property. I've yet to find this well. The Sheriff was out one time looking for a body down in it. He grappled up some bones that were deemed to be animal.

Behind Lilly's now deceased hideous wall of shrubs I found another quince garden behind the cabin now seeing the sun again.

Turns out, my new rock pile was the chimney from my log cabin.

Im planted, but have to protect a few still. My local deer are ruthless. These were 7-8ft tall. I lost 3 between the weekend i planted and when i was going to fence them.

I have a couple of chestnuts up on the ridge that I failed to cage that look like those.

We checked out the other homestead today.

I found the head of one of my honey locusts knocked off, I suspect a marauding bandog. I have a fence around them now.

"The Sheriff was out one time looking for a body down in it. He grappled up some bones that were deemed to be animal."

David Brown came up missing in the area never to be found. Neighbor Adam and his Father walking down the hollow after a deer hunt came upon the Sheriff coming up on a body in the well tip. Adam was 14 years of age or so probable around 30 years ago. They took the Sheriff to the well, the same well that I found yesterday. The Sheriff grappled up a bone that Adam described as a human femur, Sheriff said this has to go to Frankfurt and they split, end of story. My guess is that the Sheriff didn't want to muddy the waters so to speak.
