I got a Robo call yesterday telling me that I'm eligible to apply for a Federal Student loan. I was urged to call now in order to be eligible for Federal forgiveness of the loan.

I'm 64.

Now this call was probably some sort of scam, but I'm sure that people are out there applying for student loans thinking they will never have to pay them back.

Knowing how hard I worked to get the money to get through college and knowing how we worked and saved so our kids could go to college - this notion of forgiving student loans after the fact is totally infuriating to me. This goes beyond socialism....This is out and out stealing.

It’s not stealing. It’s buying. Buying votes from young dummies who got in over their heads getting a PanAfrican transgender studies degree.

To the best of my knowledge currently there isn't a forgiveness program other than to teach for 5 consecutive years or go into public service. There are private companies out there that will help pay down student loan debt if you work for them for a set amount of time but that call was defiantly a phishing scam call.

I think the 5 years teaching forgiveness is only for certain fields. I know teachers, many years in, that still get loan payments deducted from every check. I could be wrong. May have changed recently.

Of all the socialist programs out there, things like this piss me off the most. People make bad decisions, then vote in somebody who promises to turn that person's mistakes into everybody else's responsibility. They have zero personal responsibility for their actions but instead feel they are a victim and someone else should have to pay. Why should I pay because you F'ed up? I busted my ass and sacrificed to not be in that position, but then I am forced to deal with it because others feel they are owed something.

Crazy high minimum wage, loan forgiveness, abortion, etc are all just irresponsible people expecting others to bare the burden of their mistakes so they don't have to.

Because some people who chose to attend a college and earn a degree, that they could not find a job with said degree. They got themselves in debt because of having to attend a big fancy, smancy, high priced university. Their degree is no good because no one wants to hire someone with a degree in Medieval poetry, asian dance, or South American music.
Hells Bells, didnt they check out what the job opportunities were in their chosen field before getting their degree.

This is just one field but contains a lot of people,...
Hospitals are full of associate degree RN's forced to pursue a bachelor degree in nursing within a certain amount of time,..usually 5 years. Competition has driven some of the prices down to around 10 grand,..but most are more..20 to 30 grand on up to whatever anyone wants to spend. This is in response to get "magnet certification" for the hospital. It is simply a trophy for a hospital that means nothing...bestowed by some stupid nursing organization. The bachelor program is nothing more than writing some English papers and has zero to do with the bedside skills which the nurses already have.....it can be completely done online,..and at the end there is no monetary $ gain from the nurse.

All of this is simply a scam that the bureaucratic pricks in hospital administration,..HR,...University's and politicians have cooked up to defraud people of money$,..but also their time. This group is where a lot of the bailout is going to if it passes. Anyone that has had a part in this should be in jail for racketeering and fraud among other things...but they dress well,......suits and ties and heel clicky shoes........speak well, although in circles to anybody listening,..and it will simply continue. If there is another industry where this is so blatant I'm not aware of it, it also adds to the rising costs in healthcare. Hospitals and University's are some of the biggest criminal institutions on the planet...Period.
