Hello everyone first ever post on a social network about hunting I’m from NC I’ve been deer hunting sense I was a little boy I’m 54 now I’ve been really hard core for the past 25 years and the past 10 I’ve gone to 100% bow hunting for many reasons #1 the challenge !!… it’s way to easy in my opinion to harvest a deer with a gun the reword of bow hunting is 100 times better in my opinion. #2 as I’ve gotten older and my kids grew up and moved away I’ve been able to go out of state public hunting and public hunting during the gun seasons is something I can’t do it’s insane I simply can’t hunt with that many crazies out, I have hunted Kansas - Missouri-Ohio-South Carolina - Georgia- now I won’t to hunt Kentucky I’ve got a place reserved 10 minutes from Peabody WMA because I read it’s one of the best I will be going up mid September for 3 full days of mostly scouting/ hunting but back in October 28- November 3 my questions are how is the craziness during this time ? Is the rut action starting to be good by then and how good is this public place ? I really appreciate and and all advice. Thank you God bless all ….

So you only use traditional bows? I can respect that. I usually try to kill one deer each year with every legal method. Kind of like a grand slam.

No actually I use traditional-compound - and last year got a sub1 from Mathews because shooting 300 lb deer in Kansas etc… I wasn’t getting good penetration and the last thing I won’t is to just injure a deer where I live in NC the average 3-4 year old deer is 150-180lbs not real big so I kinda have to use what’s needed where I’m at
