I bet that Male Coyote Could have turned around and gone back "Home" if he so desired.
I saw a Really Red one a few years ago....killed the Mate and he never showed up again even on cameras.

107 miles is a lot of butt sniffing, I'm sure he still reeked when he was takin out. Those little killing machines sure are stinky critters
When I was in high school in southern Il. the farmer I worked for ran a crap load of coyote dogs. He had some pups he put on a coyote one night and we didn’t see them for 5 days. On the sixth day, another farmer called and had caught the dogs. He was 50 miles north of our location.

What breed(s) did he use?
He had several breeds but these two were a cross breed called a July. Picture a greyhound with a hound dog head on it. He gave $2000 each back in 1982. They were hard to train because they could outrun the older smarter dogs. Watch them run a doe to death across a big flat field one afternoon.
