saw a hen and five poults that appeared to be more than half grown today on bank of fishing river Cumberland Co

Im watching 6hens, 1 gobbler, & around 12-15 poults in whats left of my winter wheat. There’s a crow in the mix that seems to be staying with them. This is one of my favorite events each year.

I saw a hen with 1 poult yesterday.

Talked to a friend that saw a hen with 6 poults down at our farm.

I saw 3 big jakes and a gobbler together today at my mom's.

Saw 2 hens with 9 “poults” yesterday. They were so big it was hard to tell them from the hens. Maybe 2/3 size.

Saw 3 beard draggers on my hunting spot while I was putting out mineral yesterday. Got my ticker going.

My daughter spotted two “super jakes” yesterday by the house. Paint brush thick but maybe 6” beards.

Been cleaning coons up like swatting flies around garden and chickens. I’ve got high hopes for fall season and spring. Barring nothing else crazy with weather, disease.
