Piddlin in the basement after cutting grass, I spotted my old fly rod hanging in the joists. Haven't even tried to use the poor thing in 15 years. I packed it down to the holler, and was getting acceptable "casts" after a few minutes. Musta caught 50 green sunnies before it got darkish on me.
Felt good to break the fly rod out

Went to Lowes and bought a gallon of paint.
I went to the checkout and there was only one person that ran a register.
I noticed a notebook hanging around her neck that said "Hi may I help you".
I asked if she was checking out and she shook her head yes. She flipped a page in the notebook that asked if I was military and such.
I then realized she could not talk. She was friendly and nice. I was nice back to her, I left with a big smile. I thought that it was great that Lowes hired this girl even though she could not speak. Kind of warms a person's heart.
I got to thinking about all the people who are able to work but just won't hit a lick at anything.

Spent the weekend cleaning up my newly acquired auction dump.
Closing on Two other nearby properties today. Everything was grown up 6ft tall. Every window and door broke, concrete in the drains, and piles of rubbish left in bedrooms of the house.

Progress… bushhogged, cleared out the trash, burned the pile, and put plastic in the windows for now.

Looks like it has potential. You going to keep it or flip it? Id say you raised the value $10,000 just by cleaning up.

I overpaid by 10k but i figure I’m even now.
My plans depend on costs associated with building on the undeveloped lakefront land. I can use this place till construction is complete, then sell or rent. If costs are too high to build on the other property, i will keep this place and just put a road, big screened in deck, and dock on the lakefront property rather than a dwelling.

Been chugging coffee. Trying to recover from a too short weekend.

If I get a spare moment at work going to make a decision for a new heavy arrow set up.

Started the morning out with Day 7 of making "icicle" pickles. Dumped them out of the crock to drain them, rinsed them repeatedly, and then put them back in the crock with boiling water poured over them. Tomorrow, they'll be drained & then have boiling pickling brine poured over them. Then that repeats for several days.... Never done this before so it's an interesting process!

Then I shredded up the rest of our yellow squash (use it or lose it!) and started it in the dehydrator. Will rehydrate a handful or so at a time this coming winter to make breads, muffins, fritters, etc.

Now, after fixing lunch & cleaning up the kitchen from all this morning's stuff, I'm trying to get some paperwork done while listening for the robovac to get hung up on something....
