So got my crossbow out today to see how my new arrows would work. Wanted to at least do a 5 shot group at 30 yards. I had to put batteries in my redot last week and wanted to make sure everything was go for season. Well turned on my redot and it stayed on for a sec then dimmed out. Second set it a month so that’s shot (anybody want one cheap?) lol. So I had a Barnett scope on an older crossbow thought i would switch it out. After adjusting it and getting a 30 yard zero I saw where it was coming apart inside, so crap! I rummaged through my scope pile and I had a camo Nikon that would look good on it but couldn’t find it. Had a .223bdc Nikon but I’d have to change the scope bases etc and it wouldn’t look right with camo scope and crossbow with black rings etc. (gotta look good!) so I ordered a truglow illuminated. 4x32. For like $77 Thought about a $299 one from loop old but just don’t wanna spend more on my scope then the old crossbow is worth. Anyone ever used one of these?

I’m sure it’ll be fine. Old crossbow ain’t worth much more. I’d replace it but it shoots a good group. Just heavy but I have used it for 10 years at least. It’s an old Barnett wildcat extreme. Just had new limbs put on it 3 years ago. I may replace it with a reverse limb crossbow but man they are high!!

There's good scope upgrades for a good price on Wyvern Creations site. They're "take off scopes" from some of the best manufacturers in the business.

Update:
I just got done ordering me a new one. Got a wicked ridge rx 400. Seemed to have decent reviews.

Anyone have any experience with these?

TruGlo actually made some of the first crossbow scopes. Had a TruGlo on my Parker from 08 until I sold it in 19 and it was a great scope. You can pay a lot but I’d say the scope you bought will work fine.

Been shopping around but just don't have any good deer show up till November, and I'm usually hunting coyotes hard, but might buy on if the mood hits me.
Looks like you got a nice one, let us know how you like it.

Hey rcb216 Ithink if I had to set up a sight on a crossbow again I would go with the adjustable elevation crossbow mount, like on a single pin bow sight (HHA Speed Dial), and mount a red dot like trs25, a low power scope, or illuminated low power scope like the old elite 4200 1.25-4. It would be expensive but you could carry over to another xbow later on.

Looks like a slick setup, here is a video on how it works.

Got my new xbow and started on it. Got it all put together and inspected. But no crank! Wasn’t a hand crank for the accudraw system. Don’t think I can manually cock a reverse limb xbow. Good way to pinch a finger off. Called tenpoint and told me I have to through my fender. So I called them and they are gonna call the bow shop that sold it. I’m not trusting that so I ordered one off Amazon. At least I’ll have a spare if they both come through for me.

Looking for a Barnett Wildcat with wood stock if you come across one.
Thanks!
