Dont even need to. If you cant see the imperfections you may need glasses.
Are you referring to the rifle I posted? Or the ones in the links DH13 posted? The two photos of the rifle I posted has such minor imperfections you’d never see them in pics. You have to look very close for them when it’s in your hands. It’s about as close to perfect as you can get for a rifle almost 40 years old.

Brought it home with me. Couldn’t pass it. It’s in great shape!

Good snag! Not having the cross bar safety is icing on the top. Most folks want the older ones like that. They have nicer wood and the Marlin "bulls eye" on the butt stock. I have Leupold 1x4x20s on my 336s and it is a nice quick and balanced set up. You have to reload if you want to shoot it these days. If you get lucky and find ammo, it will cost you a body part and your first born.

I love .35’s.. my dad hunted with a straight stock long barrel .35 marlin for years..I’ve had 336 30/30’s for a long time..
I finally found one a few years ago but unfortunately it was a “Remlin” , I bought it almost sight unseen. Just pics.
The muzzle crown looked like it was done by a 5 year old with a 4-flouted bit. Worst I’ve ever seen.. the action was grabby, rough and jerky..
I wouldn’t group for love nor money. Tried many different loads, that crown was just too bad..
I traded it off and am looking for another.

I love the Looks and Feel of Lever Actions. They are indeed classic Firearms and I would love to have an Old One.
But.
@KYBOY got a lemon it seems. I Zero a lot of rifles for folks in my neighborhood. The only Rifle I was ever unable to Zero was a lever action. Couple years ago a fella brought one by....and I don't think it would shoot a 12 inch group. Amazing.

Ive owned a lot of marlins and they have been all great guns expect that Remington made Marlin(which it seems is not that uncommon) but yes it was a lemon for sure.. Every other one Ive ever owned were solid guns

I like the Marlins and the caliber, my most favorite 35 is my 80 year old minty Remington 141 pump. Too bad ammo is so hard to find, even reloading supplies are getting hard to find!

Just think, a very few years ago, one could find .35 Remington ammo easily at their Walmart or Sporting Goods store. I remember one time at a shooting range, I saw lots of fired .35 Remington brass discarded on the ground or in a trash barrel.
